That. Was. Pure. Awesomeness! 5 sexy & nail biting stars! I’ve had this book for some time now… I’ve been meaning to get to it and I’m so sorry I didn’t read it sooner. The cover was one major reason I kept looking at it and going… ‘soon baby, soon it’s you and me’… I think the two on this cover (even if you can’t see faces) are just freaking crazy hot! -> Note that this is one of those books where you can safely judge it by its cover. What you see on the front… you find in spades between the pages of Connected. Phew! What I loved most about Connected? While you are reading about the attraction between D & R, you don’t even realize that’s there’s more going on here. I’m not usually one for suspense or mystery butdammit… this was just fantastically well played out. Dahlia meets River 5 years ago when she and a friend of her’s go to a club near their college to check out a new band. While getting drinks at the bar, she spots River and River… spots her. The attraction is instant and fiercely potent… and that’s putting it mildly. Don’t misunderstand… it’s not insta-love… it’s insta-lust or insta-connection. So if you hate couples who declare their intentions soon in a book – you are safe here… it’s pretty well planned out and definitely leaves you panting. So… River wants to get to know Dahlia within seconds of meeting her… but the problem? She has a cute boy back at his fraternity house waiting for her. In other words… she’s got a boyfriend. Another aspect that played out well is her behavior towards the deep connection she shares with River and her ability to remain true and loyal to her boyfriend Ben. Anyhoo… So they chat, laugh and briefly get to know one another and then she discovers, when he finally leaves, that he’s the lead singer of the band she’s come to watch. But she doesn’t hang out – she makes a run for it, because she doesn’t trust herself and the last thing she wants is to hurt Ben. I really didn’t want to like Ben… but the way Author Kim Karr created their relationship, you can’t help but like him. Even though you want River and Dahlia to have their moment… I was worried about how Kim Karr was going to go about making this happen without upsetting some readers who have ‘cheating partner’ issues. I personally thought – go for it girl – but I know it’s a soft spot for some and I’m glad KK didn’t just make it all simple and use the standard & easier method some authors would do to bring River & Dahlia together. KK worked hard at creating and ultimately ending a relationship that we as readers couldn’t help but love. So thumbs up for that KK
